Tracy introduces students to all aspects of learning an instrument such as music theory, piano finger techniques, importance of dynamics, emphasis on consistent practice, some music composition (or more if students enjoy composition), encourages students to choose and play the types of music they like while still learning classical pieces, AND emphasis on playing alone or with other musicians in recitals 3-4 times a year.
Students of all levels co-mingle during preparation for recitals which fosters camaraderie and encouragement from more experienced students and allows younger and/or less experienced students to see what they may achieve with lessons and practice and learn not to fear playing in front of a crowd.
She is an outstanding teacher who motivates and encourages people of all ages to learn, improve and enjoy playing the piano.
