Lovley Piano Studio offers piano lessons in San Diego and beyond for kids, teens, and adults. With over 27 years of teaching experience, Tracy Lovley provides supportive, personalized instruction that helps students build confidence, technique, and a lifelong love of music.
Teaching Philosophy
Lessons at Lovley Piano Studio are designed to be both structured and encouraging, helping students build confidence, technique, and musical expression at every stage.
Students build strong musical foundations through a balanced approach that includes:
Sightreading – building confidence in reading notes, rhythm, and dynamics
Theory – understanding the foundations of music in a clear, approachable way
Ear training – strengthening listening, memory, and recognition skills
Performance – preparing for recitals, competitions, and evaluations with confidence
Composition – encouraging creativity and self-expression through original music
Student Growth
Each student learns at their own pace in a positive and supportive environment. Whether beginning piano for the first time or continuing advanced study, lessons focus on steady progress, confidence, and musical enjoyment.
Experience & Background
With over 27 years of teaching experience, Tracy Lovley has worked with students of all ages, helping them build strong musical foundations and confidence at the piano.
She has served as President of the MTAC San Diego Branch, founded the MTAC Kids Into Music Program, and guided students through Guild Auditions and Certificate of Merit evaluations.
Tracy holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Concordia College (MN) and pursued graduate studies at the University of Arizona. She is also an active member of national and state music organizations.
